Immanuel students partner with AusOcean to collect ocean data

Immanuel is excited to be part of Network Blue; a groundbreaking project to improve our knowledge of the health of our oceans in partnership with AusOcean, led by former Chief Google Engineer in Australia, Alan Noble.

A team of 30 Immanuel students have built and trialed a low cost floating device to collect ocean data, enabling fast free access to data for scientific research. Network Blue will be rolled out to other schools, with the help of our students, with the aim of establishing a global network of schools engaged in ocean research.

Our students have been involved in every aspect of the project including combining not only STEM, but also outdoor education, community engagement, entrepreneurship and more. This is a pretty special opportunity that we are proud to be part of.
