Student's Power Cup Guernsey design

Year 12 student Eytahnyia's stunning design has been selected for our 2017 Aboriginal Power Cup guernsey.

Eytahnyia says her design reflects the fact that Immanuel College is on Kaurna land, and while our Aboriginal students are from many different language and cultural groups, "we can all come together on this land and become one." The design features the Kaurna word 'Taikurti' meaning ‘relatives’, and an image showing the contrast of the different faces of the emu (of the Kaurna people) and red kangaroo (of the Adelaide Plains).

The Aboriginal Power Cup run by Port Adelaide Football Club & South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy, involves over 400 students from around the state helping them connect with their Aboriginal culture, community and environment. The football carnival kicks off next week at Alberton Oval.
